About Me

Recognizing this gap, I founded Tekwerk Instruments. Our mission is to design and produce world-class professional products that offer unparalleled quality and uncompromising roadworthiness — empowering musicians and techs to deliver consistently outstanding performances, each and every time.
During my work as a tech, I came to understand the critical need for reliable and durable musical electronics. However, I also noticed that many of the products necessary for serious pros were simply not available on the market.
I am Maddi Schieferstein, a veteran of the music touring industry with over 30 years of experience. My career has afforded me the opportunity to work with some of the world's most accomplished guitar and bass players, including a significant tenure as a guitar technician for John Petrucci of Dream Theater.

TRS Splitter Tekwerk

TRS Splitter

This box will allow you to split a TRS cable to two TS cables OR combine two TS cables to a single TRS cable. There are multiple uses for this box. The TRS Splitter also has a Ground Lift button to lift the ground of the Ring connector.
*NOTE*: The TRS Splitter will not work with PRS guitars equiped with piezo pickup systems.
1) TWO SWITCHES AT ONE JACK

By connecting two switches to a single TRS jack using a TRS splitter, you can expand the control options or trigger different actions when your device has a limited number of control input jacks. Each switch can be assigned a specific function or action, allowing you to interact with the device in a more versatile and customized way. Just make sure your device supports two switches at a TRS jack.
2) TWO SIGNALS FROM ONE GUITAR

This application involves using a TRS splitter to connect an electric guitar with both magnetic and piezo pickups to a processor that has two separate inputs. This setup allows for individual processing of the magnetic and piezo signals. The TRS splitter adapter is connected to the guitar's TRS output jack, splitting the combined signal into two separate paths. These separate signals from the TRS splitter are then connected to the two separate inputs on the processor. This configuration allows for independent processing of the magnetic and piezo signals. Note that this also applies to guitars with two magnetic pickup outputs (e.g. “Ric-O-Sound”)
3) Application: TRS Insert Signal Routing and Processing:

The TRS splitter box can be utilized with a TRS insert jack on audio devices such as mixers, audio interfaces, or recording equipment. This application allows for convenient signal routing and external signal processing, creating separate jacks for SEND and RETURN.

1-Connect the TRS plug of the splitter box to the TRS insert jack on the audio device.
2-Connect the output of the splitter box to the input of an external signal processor.
3-Connect the output of the external signal processor to the input of the splitter.

In most TRS insert configurations, the audio signal is typically sent through the TIP of the TRS connector. However, it's always recommended to consult the user manual or documentation of the specific equipment you are working with to confirm the exact wiring configuration and functions of the tip and ring connections in your particular setup.

Now you can end the trouble of noisy ground loops unwanted interference once and for all: invest in the Tekwerk Instruments Isolator 1 and experience consistently outstanding audio performance.
One primary use of an audio isolation transformer is to eliminate unwanted noise and interference in audio signals. It helps isolate the audio equipment from ground loops, which often cause humming or buzzing sounds. By effectively isolating the audio signal, the transformer helps achieve a clean and noise-free audio output.
Ground loops can occur when multiple audio devices are connected to different power sources, resulting in a noticeable hum or distortion in the audio signal. An isolation transformer breaks the ground loop by providing electrical isolation between devices, ensuring a clear and distortion-free audio transmission.
Audio equipment is vulnerable to electrical interference or voltage fluctuations that can damage sensitive components. By incorporating an audio isolation transformer, you can safeguard your equipment by providing a buffer between the connected devices, preventing electrical surges or spikes from affecting the audio signal path.
